We are now looking for a Finance Manager to take the lead for Best Friend Group Finnish finance team in Kuopio during a parental leave cover—a fixed-term position of approximately one year starting in September 2025.
In this pivotal role, you will lead our Finance team in Kuopio, oversee financial operations for three legal entities (Finland, Sweden, Hong Kong), and act as the key finance partner for our Finnish operations and business. You will report directly to the Nordic Pet Care Group COO/CFO and work also in collaboration with Finance team in Denmark.
You will be responsible for monthly closing, budgeting, reporting, audit coordination, and tax topics, while supporting the business with financial analysis and insights. This role combines financial leadership with hands-on collaboration in a small but experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Finance team in Finland (2 direct reports) covering three legal entities
Lead month-end closing process and prepare Best Friend Group monthly reporting
Coordinate and participate in budgeting and forecasting
Lead audit and annual reporting processes
Lead tax matters together with bookkeeper and with external partner if needed
Support business with analysis and reporting (sales deviation, cost trends etc.)
Approve and verify payroll and statutory reports (payroll handled by team)
Act as point of contact for local banks, insurance, and external partners
Maintain relevant parts of ERP and ensure data quality
Hands-on support during holiday periods or peak times as part of a tight-knit team

Talent we are looking for
- +5years of experience in financial roles (e.g. Finance Manager, Financial Controller)
- Competence in financial accounting and business controlling
- Capabilities and interest working in an international group
- Motivation to grow into a broad finance leadership role
- Solid Excel skills, understanding of ERP systems. Knowledge of Power BI is considered as a plus
- Fluent English and Finnish language skills
- Education in finance/accounting
- Based in Kuopio region or within reasonable commuting distance (hybrid work possible)
- Previous experience working in international group organizations is considered as a plus
