ERP Transformation is an organisation driving the Wärtsilä ERP development and the ERP transformation programme called Nova. Nova is a multi-year programme designed to drive business value of our ERP technology platform where core solution is SAP S/4HANA.
We are looking for a Head of ERP Architecture and Development, to join our ERP Transformation Leadership Team, reporting to VP, ERP Transformation. In this role you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the design, development, and evolution of the organization’s SAP ecosystem to drive business value and our clean core targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the architectural vision and delivery strategy for SAP landscape and its integrations with other enterprise platforms, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives and target enterprise architecture.
- Define and deploy the SAP ecosystem development principles, standards, policies and best practices, and lead the related governance forums (e.g. Design Authority Board).
- Monitor and evaluate industry and SAP technology trends to continuously identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and increased business value.
- Lead a high-performing team of SAP architects fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Provide architectural consultancy and support in analysing and planning of all the SAP related key development initiatives.
- Manage and develop modern toolchain for efficient SAP ERP landscape handling including ALM and GRC processes.
- Ensure performance, scalability, reliability and compliance of the SAP landscape.
To succeed in this role, you need to have:
- 10+ years of experience in SAP architecture and development, including deep technical expertise in SAP S/4HANA and related products, SAP extensions and integrations.
- Proven leadership in large-scale SAP implementations, migrations, or transformations.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to translate business vision into architecture roadmap for execution to implement the needed business capabilities to drive value.
- Experience in leading cross-functional change initiatives and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams and vendors.
- Master’s degree in computer science, information systems or engineering.
- Excellent planning, facilitation, and communication skills. You can make your own slides.
- Fluent written and spoken English.

- Stable, secure, and high-performing SAP ecosystem.
- Reduction in customization complexity and improved time-to-market for new features.
- Effective integration of SAP with enterprise systems (PLM, CRM, HR, analytics).
- High business satisfaction and measurable ROI from SAP investments.
