Description of the position

As the technical and strategic lead for the MacGregor SAP platform, you will manage the evolution of our core business technology landscape. Your primary mission is to ensure our ERP landscape is robust, high-performing, and fully aligned with current business requirements. You will direct the technical architecture, development pipeline, and lifecycle management of our SAP ECC and BW/4HANA environments. By focusing on technical integrity and continuous improvement, you will ensure these systems power operational excellence across all MacGregor business lines today while maintaining a sustainable path for the future.

The role requires the ability to lead across internal and external networks, perform well under pressure, and confidently challenge and defend ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the technical health, continuous improvement, and optimization of the SAP ecosystem (ECC, PI, BW4HANA), ensuring it remains a reliable and scalable foundation for business processes.

• Own the overall solution architecture, technical standards, and release management, prioritizing core SAP capabilities and maintaining a “Clean Core” by minimizing custom ABAP and leveraging standard best practices.

• Lead SAP service management for end users, including SLA/KPI oversight for external partners, while guiding a high-performing team of internal experts and consultants and collaborating closely with key users.

• Contribute to solution design by consulting, reviewing, and approving technical designs from development partners.

• Manage vendor relationships and licensing to ensure cost-efficiency and capability coverage, and provide technology input for financial planning, including usage and implementation cost estimates.

• Ensure the SAP platform complies with global cybersecurity standards (ISO 27001), data privacy regulations, and internal audit requirements.

Position requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience, with 8–10+ years in ERP environments and proven experience managing complex SAP landscapes and large-scale transformations.

• Strong expertise in technical solution design, including guiding modernization of legacy code, and solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA migration strategies and SAP BTP.

• Experience with Agile and DevOps practices in ERP release management, as well as managing external service providers and multi-vendor environments.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge the status quo and communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

• Fluent in English (Finnish or Swedish considered an asset)

• Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately once per quarter or less).
