Head of Optimizing & Pricing
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven leader to build and lead Gasum’s new Optimizing & Pricing capability within the Supply & Trading business. This is a highly strategic and business-critical role with a direct impact on the future profitability and competitiveness of Gasum’s gas and renewable gas business.
Gasum is currently undergoing a major transformation. While the company has a long history in the Nordic energy market, the operating environment has changed fundamentally during recent years due to market liberalization, the energy crisis and the accelerating green transition. At the same time, Gasum has invested strongly in biogas and renewable gas and is now in a unique position to build one of Europe’s leading renewable gas businesses.
To support this transformation, Gasum is now building a completely new capability focused on end-to-end value chain optimization. Today, sourcing, logistics, production, commercial portfolio management and sales are not yet connected through one integrated optimization function — and this role will play a key part in creating that capability from the ground up.
We are looking for a person who understands how continuous-flow and commodity-driven businesses operate, where value is created by optimizing the entire value chain instead of individual functions. You may come from energy, electricity, oil & gas, process industry, metals, paper industry or another operationally complex business environment where products are continuously sourced, processed, optimized and sold.
In this role, you will not step into a ready-made organization or established operating model. Instead, you will have a unique opportunity to build new structures, processes, optimization capabilities and eventually your own team together with strong support from senior management, the board and the owners.
To succeed in this role, you combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic and hands-on approach. You are able to create structure in evolving environments, build credibility quickly and lead through influence across a matrix organization. You understand what “good” looks like in modern optimization and supply chain management environments and are able to bring that expertise into Gasum.
This is not a role for someone looking to maintain existing processes — this is an opportunity to build something entirely new with significant business impact. You will be responsible for:
Leading value chain optimization and the development of S&OP processes across Gasum’s gas and renewable gas value chain
Driving commercially optimal and operationally feasible decisions across sourcing, logistics, production, pricing and portfolio management
Developing pricing strategies, product structures and commercial models to support profitability and business growth
Leading margin and portfolio optimization as well as scenario-based optimization of flows, assets and contracts
Acting as a trusted integrator across Production, Trading, Operations, Sales and Finance
Conducting market analysis and supporting strategic decision-making based on input from suppliers, customers and markets
Supporting portfolio decisions related to sourcing, capacity, make-or-buy analyses and asset utilization
Supporting Operations, Sales and HSEQ in topics related to prioritization, pricing, regulations and sustainability
Contributing to topics related to energy taxation, customs regulation and other regulated business environments
What are we looking for?

Your background
- Strong experience in value chain optimization, supply chain management, S&OP, portfolio optimization or other complex continuous-flow business environments
- Experience from commodity-driven industries such as energy, electricity, oil & gas, process industry or other operationally complex businesses
- Experience in building or developing optimization, planning or commercial capabilities
- Ability to combine data, market insights and operational realities into commercially sound decisions
- Experience in scenario-based optimization, market analysis and strategic business planning
- Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, logistics and operational planning
- Relevant higher education in business, engineering, supply chain management, industrial economics, energy economics or another applicable field
- Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken

We consider the following as an advantage
- Experience from energy, gas, LNG, renewable gas, electricity or other commodity-driven businesses
- Experience from FMCG, process industry or other fast-moving and operationally complex environments
- Experience in end-to-end value chain optimization, integrated business planning or supply chain management
- Experience in building new capabilities, structures or cross-functional processes
- Familiarity with optimization tools, advanced analytics or scenario modelling
- Understanding of energy taxation, customs regulation or sustainability-related regulation
- Experience working in international and matrix organizations
- Finnish language skills are considered an advantage but are not required
